Five tasks below will help your learners to define the rules that govern the choice between DID and HAVE DONE when referring to the past in English. 

Students will be asked to work in groups and define draft rules based on the description of structures they produced. After that the rules will be put to a test and improved. 

The tasks will take between 40 and 80 minutes depending on how you organise your work.
